Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL)
Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) is the holding company for Gujarat’s state power utilities, including GSECL, GETCO, and four regional distribution companies (DGVCL, MGVCL, PGVCL, UGVCL). It was established as part of the unbundling of the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Re-Organization & Regulation) Act, 2003, to improve efficiency in power generation, transmission, and distribution. GUVNL coordinates bulk power purchase and sale, supervises subsidiaries, and facilitates policy implementation for the state’s energy sector.
